Sunil Gupta

Managing Partner, India 

In 1978, Sunil joined Hindustan Thompson (a subsidiary of J. Walter Thompson Company), India’s premier Advertising Company, in Delhi, after completing his MBA from FMS, Delhi.During 1978-88 in Delhi.  In 1988 he was sent as Senior Vice President to head Hindustan Thompson’s Eastern region in Calcutta.

In 1992, Sunil went back to Delhi to head the Northern region, and managed an operation of 275 people, with offices in Delhi and Chandigarh, and operations not only in conventional advertising services, but also in Exhibition & Design and Social Communication. HTA is by far the largest communications company in north India. 

Sunil left HTA in April 2002, and was on a sabbatical till December 2002 when he joined RK Swamy/BBDO as COO, based in Delhi. In November 2003 he decided not to renew his contract with the Company and strike out on his own. He was an advisor to an emerging Communications Group from the USA on corporate strategy in 2003-04.

He started his own consultancy Company, Sting Communications, in 2004, through which he consults on brand communication projects and conducts communication training programs with companies in India, Pakistan and Dubai. On 2008 Sunil joined Results International to head up the Indian offering.

He is currently based in Gurgaon, India, and is married, with two daughters.
